Sal is the most developed of all the Cape Verdean islands.  This is because it is home to the first international airport of Cape Verde.

Sal has amazing beaches. The island and has experienced much of property investment in Cape Verde. In the early days, most of the property investors were Cape Verdeans living abroad or the Southern Europeans (mainly the Italians).

Since the “Place in the Sun” program on Channel 4 in February 2005, there has been a huge interest from British and Irish investors. There is now an established British community on Sal.

Espargos is the official capital of the island, but Santa Maria is the heart of property development on Sal.  Santa Maria is on the Southern end of the island and is the main tourist resort. It is real focus for water sports enthusiasts.

There has been significant property development in Santa Maria for quite a few years now.  The Eastern side of Santa Maria is designated as mainly residential. Whist the Western side of Santa Maria along the coast and all the way up to Ponta Preta, is designated as mainly tourist villages and resort style developments.

Property development on Sal Island has also occurred in Mudeira on the Western coast on the way to the airport. The rest of the island has had limited attention to date, but other areas will start to develop as the infrastructure continues to improve.

We have established relationships with many of the property developers on Sal Island.  But these days there is also a far bigger resale market for property on the island.  It is a real buyers market at present with many distressed sellers.
